Life
AIMA 2004 had reached a record number of students. Students from Germany (5), Greece (2), Russia (1), Latvia (1), Korea (1), Japan (1), USA (1), New Zealand (1) and Italy (1) joined the students from all over Turkey at Ayvalik and Cunda, between September 6 and 15, 2004. With the participation of 5 alumni all in all there were 50 students attending classes this year.

Prof. Lukas David is AIMA’s senior resident since 1999. Prof. Mariana Sirbu, joined the faculty in 2004. Tatjana Masurenko have conducted the viola, Peter Bruns the cello, Vieri Bottazzini the flute and Julian Milkis the clarinet master classes.
Students
and teachers created various chamber music groups and small chamber
orchestras during the duration of the master classes. On 14th of
September, a concert was organized for the public where the whole student
and faculty members participated. At the concert a wide variety of
works by composers from Bach to Hindemith, from Vivaldi to Debussy
and from Duke Ellington to Astor Piazzola was performed.


At its 7th year AIMA became an established summer school with its alumni joining in as students and guests. Philharmonic Society of Ayvalik and other non governmental organisations along with the Mayor of Ayvalik took active interest in AIMA and gave support.
